This position sits in the Marketplace value team within Global Business Partnerships and is responsible for setting and executing strategies for the optimization of air and ground transportation content through our traveler care and online distribution channels towards set goals. All this by including our current and future capabilities.
Amex GBT has the most valuable corporate travel marketplace which has been cultivated through our close partnership with suppliers who wish to provide attractive customer offerings to our premium client base. These suppliers require us to produce insight and improved performance in return. The Air and Ground Optimization Team ensures preferred suppliers who provide us with the best content receive foremost support by deploying technology and tools to highlight the key attributes and benefits of these products to our customers so that they can make the best purchasing decisions. As a result, our premium client base would continue to grow, and we would create a virtuous circle driving value for both our preferred suppliers and our customers.
The ideal candidate has a strategic and commercial mindset combined with a can-do mentality. You are able to grasp the various supplier and client aspects of travel economics as well as current and latest content distribution and channel retailing opportunities to set data grounded optimization strategies across different business units and client segments. The candidate is highly analytical and will be able to identify short versus longer term goals and deploy tools and technology accordingly driven by marketplace value.
The candidate will need to have a highly developed business acumen and an entrepreneurial mentality, spotting new revenue generating opportunities and be able to drive them from ideation through to rollout based on a data grounded approach.
What You'll Do
Aside from working only with tools and products currently available the candidate needs to work well cross functionally with multiple teams across our organization for example with our revenue management - and product/technology teams, to support new solutions to future proof Amex GBT for any new developments in the dynamic travel landscape such as NDC, Next Generation Storefront and channel management.
