Job Description

We're on the lookout for a manager to join our team. The person we're looking for will feel comfortable creating a customer-focused environment as well as driving sales. They will be taking ownership of all controllable costs within the coffee shop through effective management of stock, labour, and training, inspiring their team to follow their lead.

We roast and cup speciality coffee on site and will be offering extensive tasting and sales training for our new manager - we really hope you like coffee!

Staff Management



Recruit, train, and supervise baristas, FOH, and kitchen staff. (Speciality Barista skills will be taught by Aron as Head of Coffee) Create and manage staff rotas, holiday requests, and shift coverage. Build, train, and inspire a team capable of supporting high-volume service. Lead by example while delegating effectively. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing development opportunities. Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive work environment.

Operational Management



Oversee daily operations including inventory ordering, register closures, stock management, and equipment maintenance. Ensure adherence to all health & safety and food hygiene regulations. Monitor budgets, financial performance, and cost-control measures. Create and refine operational procedures to improve efficiency. Work closely with the owners to uphold consistent quality and service standards Contribute to Social Media presence with weekly reels/stories/videos

Customer Service



Demonstrate exceptional customer service and model best practices for staff. Handle customer concerns professionally and constructively. Contribute to the warm, welcoming atmosphere The Espresso Lounge is known for.

Floor + Kitchen Duties



Actively work on the shop floor, including making high volume specialty coffee, serving customers, and supporting the kitchen and bakery. (Training for coffee will be provided) Perform or supervise kitchen and baking tasks as needed, ensuring quality control and seamless operations. Stay informed about industry trends and introduce ideas to enhance the guest experience including online sales & reward system

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Manager or senior supervisor in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality environment. Strong leadership and staff-management abilities. Experience in kitchen operations and/or baking is a bonus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for specialty coffee. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Familiarity with POS systems. Strong understanding of food safety and health regulations.
