The Role:
As Operations Manager, you'll be leading the delivery of our solar installation projects from instruction to completion. This includes managing site teams, ensuring high-quality installations, and keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently. We're looking for someone with a solid electrical background, real-world solar experience, and the leadership skills to guide and grow a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the installation of solar PV systems including battery storage and EV chargers.
Hire, train, and support field staff to ensure the highest standard of work and team development.
Coordinate project schedules and installations to meet deadlines and budgets.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical or logistical challenges as they arise.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical regulations, health & safety protocols, and industry standards.
Work closely with the sales, engineering, and customer service teams to deliver a smooth customer journey.
Work closely with the Directors to grow and drive the business forward.
Oversee inventory, tools, and fleet management.
Track performance data and implement process improvements.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, safety, and team performance.
Required qualifications and experience:
Fully qualified electrician (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2391, or equivalent), and 2391 testing and inspection qualification, site supervisor CSCS card.
At least 5 years' experience in electrical installations, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
Hands-on experience with solar PV systems (residential and commercial).
Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, grid connections, and renewable systems.
Great communication and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable skills:
Experience with battery storage and EV charging installations.
Familiarity with CRM or field service software.
Knowledge of solar monitoring platforms like SolarEdge or Enphase.
