We are expanding and looking to recruit a Managing Associate/ Senior Lawyer (5+ PQE) into our Global Investigations Team, based in London. You must be a qualified lawyer with the relevant experience, ideally within a private practice setting.

THE TEAM Addleshaw Goddard's Global Investigations (GI) team is part of the Disputes Group. GI covers a number of practice areas, including corporate crime and financial services investigations and enforcement. With GI lawyers across our London, Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid, and Dubai offices, as well as across the UK regions, we are recognised by independent legal directories as a leading and increasingly international practice with a strong reputation for helping our clients achieve commercial resolutions to the most contentious and difficult issues they face. Our London office has two partners (David Pygott and Sarah Thomas) who specialise in financial services investigations and enforcement. To support our continued growth and focus on City work, we are looking for a Managing Associate with initiative, creativity and enthusiasm to support those partners and help us extend our reach into the market. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced financial services investigations and enforcement lawyer to progress their career. What to expect in this role Counting many of the largest UK banks among our clients, the role will involve advising on a mix of regulatory interventions and investigations, particularly by the FCA, PRA, FRC and other professional regulators. The role will also involve advising on internal and external investigations, remediation and complaints handling exercises, as well as some specialist advisory work (for example compliance assurance reviews). Our team is known in particular for providing support on whistleblowing, market abuse and insider dealing, AML and other financial crime related issues. The team is friendly, hard-working and supportive of one another, placing strong emphasis on internal collaboration as well as on our external delivery: we share ideas, experience and advice. Alongside GI, Addleshaw Goddard also has highly ranked teams in Corporate, non-contentious Financial Services Regulation (including Consumer Finance and Payments), Finance Litigation and Employment practices, with which the GI team works very closely. your areas of knowledge and expertise
A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a City law firm or other practice with equivalent standing, we are seeking a senior lawyer and would accept applications form those seeking an LD position;
Strong knowledge of the FCA and PRA enforcement processes, in particular of the provisions of FSMA, the FCA Handbook, and the PRA Rulebook that relate to investigations and enforcement;
Experience of advising clients in regulatory investigations, internal investigations and remediation exercises;
Managing electronic document reviews, making substantial productions to regulators, and assisting witnesses in FCA interviews;
Good knowledge of other areas of UK financial services regulation;
Business development experience and a strong desire to grow the practice, particularly internationally; and
A desire to take part in training and supervising more junior members of the team as appropriate.
