Role Overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the commercial success of aviation civils works at Birmingham Airport. You'll lead the commercial function across multiple projects, ensuring robust financial performance, managing contractual risk, and acting as the primary commercial contact for clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic commercial leadership across aviation civils projects, reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager.
Lead, mentor and support a team of Assistant, Quantity and Senior Quantity Surveyors.
Oversee commercial delivery of site portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Prepare and review estimates, pricing submissions and contractual documentation.
Manage client negotiations, resolve pricing queries and support claims and change control.
Administer contracts (NEC3/4, NR or bespoke), including early warnings, change management and CVRs.
Collaborate with site teams and subcontractors to control costs and manage final accounts.
Produce commercial reports and contribute to business development initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrable experience as a Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment.
Proven leadership of commercial teams and delivery of civils projects (e.g. groundworks, bridges, roads, structures).
Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts.
Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent.
Professional accreditation (e.g. MRICS) is desirable.
Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
