In our Regional Civils division, you'll lead a dedicated team of quantity surveyors on a major infrastructure scheme in Benacre, East Suffolk. This is a heavy civils project governed by NEC contracts, and you'll be involved from the ground up--bringing your expertise to shape its success from the earliest stages. What you'll be doing



This is a management position for an individual with the business acumen to develop commercial opportunity on projects within the business stream to achieve and exceed profitability targets. Proven experience in the ability to lead, influence and communicate with others and, in particular, create successful commercial teams at all levels is required. Demonstrable experience within a heavy civils background, specifically management of major earthwork schemes. Substantial previous experience in quantity surveying within a relevant business environment and a valid CSCS card are required. Membership of a relevant professional body and/or relevant professional qualification is desirable, such as RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/ CIBSE.

The ability to operate successfully in a commercial environment and previous experience of managing project commercial performance is necessary. Commercial awareness is required to assess margin, risk and cash flow.



Leading by example to manage subcontractors, a team of Quantity Surveyors and our commercial success, you'll:


Ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a range of specified projects Manage a small team of quantity surveyors on a single large project in Suffolk Provide guidance to other members of the Commercial/quantity surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all aspects relating to commercial activity on the specified projects Be able to see the bigger picture to commercially deliver larger projects - from initial calculations to final figures Confidently build relationships with clients and subcontractors Make sure that contracts are well managed and that subcontractors are properly procured and paid Monitor how contracts are progressing and work with multi-disciplinary teams to spot opportunities to minimise costs and maximise value for money Keep a keen eye on any changes to the project and sensitively handle conversations around their impact on cost Grow through exposure, mentorship and excellent soft skills and technical training Have plenty of opportunity to keep building invaluable professional networks.
