About the role

Are you a Managing Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC3 contract experience, looking for a fresh challenge in a new and exciting sector?



We're seeking motivated commercial leaders to join us on a major power infrastructure programme in Scotland. You don't need prior experience in the power sector, we're more interested in the transferable commercial and leadership skills you bring from areas such as construction, housing, or wider infrastructure.

Scottish Power Frameworks Argyll and Bute Projects

What you'll be doing

Lead the commercial management of major projects or portfolios, from pre-contract to final account. Procuring and managing the supply chain, with a focus on cost control and value creation. Engaging in risk management, value engineering, and contract negotiations. Mentoring and developing a team of commercial professionals. Managing client and stakeholder relationships to drive positive commercial outcomes. Applying your knowledge of NEC contracts and the full gated business lifecycle (Gates 1-8). Supporting and promoting professional development across the team.

Degree-qualified, ideally with a RICS-accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, or a relevant postgraduate conversion course Strong working knowledge of NEC3 forms of contract Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a wider team Eligible for security clearance (if required)

Location: This is a hybrid role based out of our Maxim Park office in Motherwell, with regular travel to key project sites across Argyll (including Crarae, An Suidhe, and Craig Murrail). You'll also benefit from Balfour Beatty's Smart Working approach - giving you the autonomy to manage your own diary and maintain a work-life balance that suits you.
