Managing Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

You will be working with a development team based in Manchester, your place of work would be split between the office and site depending on where you reside.

MCR Property Group are a national real estate investment and development company with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. The focus of MCR is residential and industrial new build and asset management of existing assets, currently with a pipeline of approximately 7000 residential plots and a commercial / industrial portfolio with a value in excess of 2bn.

MCR plans to expand significantly within the coming few years and is seeking motivated people with construction experience to grow with us.

As a Managing Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.

You will be reporting to the Construction Director, running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependant on your level and location.

Essential criteria:



Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement process Minimum 5 years' QS experience working on a range of projects and values Have worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractor Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems Computer literate - excel/word/etc. Hold a full clean driving licence
