Job Description

GENERAL THERAPY



1 - 5 clients: 35 per session

6 or more clients: 40 per session CBT/DBT/EMDR SPECIALIST (only if special request from university)

1 - 5 clients: 45 per session

6 or more clients: 50 per session Criteria to become a ProblemShared Mental Health Practitioner


ProblemShared recognises that across the counselling and psychotherapy profession in the UK there are many different courses and therapeutic approaches. Within these trainings the approach to learning varies widely from academic/research based training and knowledge to holistic - body, mind and spiritual learning.


We welcome the creation of a rich and diverse community of practice to meet the needs of clients and enhance our profession.


ProblemShared is committed to creating an online community of excellence and offering clients high quality, professionally qualified and experienced practitioners and so believe a rigorous recruitment process is essential to building credibility and trust in our community.


We have therefore based our selection criteria on the requirements set out by BACP for registration and eligibility for accreditation and the current draft SCoPEd training and competency framework (July 2020).

We currently have three groups of practitioners which make up the ProblemShared Community of Practice;

Category A & B: Platform user, general referrals, university partner referrals

Category C: Platform user, general referrals, university and insurance company referrals



The requirements for each group are set out below;

Training and Practice Requirements




All practitioners who are registered with ProblemShared must meet and demonstrate the following criteria before going live on the platform;

Training requirements




You must have completed and graduated from a BACP/UKCP/BPC/BPS accredited course or professional counselling or psychotherapy training that:

level 4 diploma or above lasted at least two years (part-time) or one year (full-time) included a supervised placement as an integral part of the training covered theory, skills, professional issues and personal development required an assessment of your competence at the end

You must have completed and graduated from a BACP/UKCP/BPC/BPS accredited course, or professional counselling or psychotherapy training that:

included at least 450 hours of tutor contact hours lasted at least two years (part-time) or one year (full-time) included a supervised placement as an integral part of the training covered theory, skills, professional issues and personal development required an assessment of your competence at the end

Supervised practice requirements




You must provide evidence that you:

have been in practice for 2 years or more completed at least 150 hours of supervised practice post qualification, been supervised for at least 1.5 hours a month throughout this period of practice.

You must provide evidence that you:

are accredited with BACP/UKCP/BABPC are a member of UKCP Have been in practice for 3 years (full time or equivalent) or more post qualification completed at least 450 hours of supervised practice, At least 150 of these hours must have been after successfully completing all your practitioner training. been supervised for at least 1.5 hours a month throughout this period of practice.

Supervision requirements




You must have a current and ongoing contract for counselling or psychotherapy supervision for a minimum of 1.5 hours per month.

Insurance




You must hold valid professional indemnity insurance for 2,000,000 or more with cover for your practice and online therapeutic work. This must be for work based in the UK.

UK Right to work




You must have proof of right to work in the UK, with UK clients, if some of your time is spent not working from an address in the UK.

Professional Membership and Commitment




To work with us as a Psychotherapist or Counsellor, you must be a current registered member of a UK based professional membership body and demonstrate your commitment to following their ethical framework and code of conduct.


The following are all recognised bodies for Psychotherapists and Counsellors for general and Uni work on the platform. British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)


British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)


National Counselling Society (NCS)


Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA)


To work for the majority of the Corporate/Insurance/Private Medical, they must be ACCREDITED with BACP, BABCP or a member of UKCP.

Supervision requirements




You must have a current and ongoing contract for counselling or psychotherapy supervision for a minimum of 1.5 hours for each month you are practicing. You can have more than one contract in place to meet this requirement, even if they relate to your practice in different agencies. You can also include a combination of individual and peer supervision.
