We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly and Test to join our Operations Transformation Team. Within the Operations Transformation team to drive the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, including automation, CNC machining, 3D printing, digitisation, and other Industry 4.0 solutions. This role supports assembly and testing of Gas and Wet products, focusing on improving production processes, equipment, and layouts to increase efficiency (OEE), enhance quality (RFT%), and reduce costs.
You will lead and support strategic projects, contribute to standardisation efforts (e.g., digital SOPs, visual factory templates), and collaborate across global functions including R&D, supply chain, operations, engineering, and product development.
This role is based from either our headquarters within Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
Primary liaison providing technical guidance to production Operations
Provide technical knowhow and drive best practices for manufacturability.
Responsible for coordination of all aspects of assigned processes; input, output, efficiencies and material flow
Creation and updating of standards and process instructions (Visual Factory, internal WIG documents)
Increasing the OEE KPI's for productions areas
Manage key projects from conception through to completion. Ensure key milestones are hit and project delivers objectives on time and within cost
"Hands On" support for production functions
Support the NPD team with PFMEA's, risk assessments and control plans.
Prepare cost estimates to formulate schedules and coordinate and monitor assigned Production/CapEx projects
Support and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders within JC Slough Operations and external suppliers as appropriate to provide technical support/assistance
Qualifications
Hold a Manufacturing Engineering qualification or equivalent to HNC. Required
Previous experience within a similar role.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and specifically those related to assembly & test.
Is a strong advocate and catalyst for change and is willing to take responsibility for leading and managing change by providing direction, focus and drive during the change process.
Ability to source and analyse data in support of the decision-making process, to drive continuous improvement and to proactively monitor and review plans to achieve goals.
Financial knowledge and skills, including analysis and understanding of cost computations, cost drivers, cost benefit and make or buy analysis, budgeting, and justification of capital expenditure.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to lead in a cross-functional / matrix management environment through building relationships across multiple diverse groups of colleagues.
Excellent planning, prioritization, and project management skills.
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement concepts.
Experience of Industry 4.0 and related advanced manufacturing technologies
