This role is responsible for technical support of manufacturing sustaining products as well as new product launches. The role also supports the operations team as a front-line engineer working with assemblers and troubleshooting equipment and process issues. Additionally, this position will manage projects aimed towards designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

Main areas of responsibility are as follows, but are not limited to:
Individuals in this role will work on manufacturing momentum products as well as new product launches.
Support the operations team as a front-line engineer working with assemblers and operators and troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
Manage projects focused on designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.
Engage with cross-functional business team to meet daily productions schedules and lead improvement strategies and initiatives.
Manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions while supporting new product introductions.
Provide technical mentorship and share new learnings across the manufacturing team.
Lead investigations and produce engineering reports for customer returns and internal manufacturing / quality concerns.
Controlling and updating manufacturing control documentation (manufacturing work instructions).
Process, co-ordinate, and implement engineering change requests (ECR's). Includes making drawing updates and implementing changes to manufacturing processes and Bills of Materials on the ERP system.
Conduct Process FMEAs and Process Validations.
Improve product quality, labour efficiency, and throughput utilising Lean manufacturing concepts.
Coordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery and test equipment.
Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability, support DVT and Pre-Production phases, lead new product introduction into manufacturing processes.
Develop and maintain a vibrant 5S Factory System.
Maintain good housekeeping, a healthy and safe work environment and the safe use of equipment and machinery.

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be based at our production facility in Llandygai Industrial Estate, Bangor. You will benefit from:

Permanent contract working 39 hours per week, over 4.5 days Monday to Friday (early finish on Friday). The company reserves the right to alter start and finish times, according to the needs of the business.
32 days holiday, including Bank Holidays and Christmas shutdown, increasing with length of service.

Knowledge & skills
An excellent understanding of materials, mechanics and production manufacturing processes (forging, CNC machining, presswork and assembly).
Able to produce and understand detailed technical drawings
Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D design software, preferably Solidworks and AutoCAD / Draftsight
Highly literate and numerate, able to investigate problems and analyse data
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Working knowledge of ERP systems (Preference: Epicor)
Well organised, ability to prioritise workload and deliver to commitments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Qualifications
BSc or HNC in an engineering/technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
