Job Purpose:
To work as part of a shift engineering team delivering the highest standards of engineering support and service to the business unit, including guidance and knowledge as required. Be innovative with ideas for continuous department development and improvements to efficiencies from plant machinery and be audit ready year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
Breakdown Assessment & Repair:
Diagnose production equipment issues, determine required resources, and apply practical engineering skills to restore functionality quickly, minimizing downtime and waste.
Planned Maintenance:
Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections thoroughly and on time, ensuring detailed documentation and adherence to preventative maintenance standards. Manage and prioritize reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain audit-ready standards for all work and records, including temporary repairs and spares management, in line with company policies.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and address equipment risks before failures occur.
Shutdown Planning:
Assess and execute required works during plant shutdowns efficiently.
Communication & Leadership:
Act as a proactive leader by engaging daily with all departments including operations, technical and hygiene.
Delegate tasks where appropriate but retain accountability for completion. Deliver detailed shift reports and attend handover meetings.
Communicate remedial work needs, required parts, and progress clearly to management. Work closely with the Engineering Team Leader.
Health & Safety:
Apply health, safety, and food safety standards consistently. Follow company safe systems of work and statutory requirements.
Teamwork:
Support departmental objectives and KPI achievement (PPM Completion %, Downtime IPFM %, Downtime by Asset, Non?Conformance reduction, Efficiency/Capacity/Waste %, Product Quality CPMU, Environmental KPIs)
Reporting:
Maintain effective internal and external reporting as per site procedures. Report and escalate issues to team leader by email.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives for plant machinery.
What We're Looking For:
Recognized engineering qualification
Some experience of previous leadership roles preferred
Fast paced/automated production/manufacturing experience
The ability to organize and prioritize your work load
Proactive approach to work
Microsoft proficient (Excel, word)
Maximo (or CMMS system) experience
Methodical and logical approach to fault diagnosis and rectification
The ability to work well as a team
High level of relevant technical ability
Performance driven bias for action approach
Ability to motivate others, strong leadership style

Pay: 48,000.00-52,000.00 per year
