The Candidate -
You'll be a Manufacturing engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing disciplines. You're passionate about process improvement, lean manufacturing, and driving excellence in production. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are confident in leading initiatives from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
The Role -
You'll lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for new and existing products. This includes defining SOPs, driving DfM/DfT reviews, supporting NPI, and collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Key Duties -
Develop scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes
Define SOPs, work instructions, and test procedures
Drive DfM and DfT reviews with product teams
Lead CAPA investigations and implement improvements
Oversee pilot builds and transition to full-scale production
Define tooling, fixtures, and jigs
Collaborate across departments and with external partners
Other Responsibilities -
Champion Lean and Six Sigma principles
Use data to drive decisions and evaluate improvements
Ensure compliance with QEHS and ISO standards
Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff
Occasional UK/international travel (max 4 weeks/year)
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems
Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Desirable:
Experience in NPI and cross-functional project leadership
Familiarity with quality systems and compliance standards
