Job title: Manufacturing Engineer

Employment Status: Permanent

Line Manager: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Location: Shoreham-by-Sea

Working hours: 30 to 37.5 hours per week - open to any Part Time/ Flexible working requests.

Hybrid working: typically 2-3 days onsite, but flexible as needed.

Salary Range: 42-46k dependant on experience

Responsibilities:

Preparation and release of Work Instructions detailing critical assembly operations and characteristics.

Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency and process capability.

Drive the standardisation of processes and best practices.

Respond to and resolve equipment/tooling breakdowns.

Planning and organisation of maintenance and calibration activities.

Perform analysis of test cell failures to determine root cause & develop corrective actions.

Perform analysis of manufacturing defects / process failures to determine root cause & develop corrective actions.

Assist in activities relating to new products, equipment, processes, and procedures.

Develop DFM, working closely with Design.

Maintain KPI targets in line with business strategy.

Skills & Experience:

HNC or above in Manufacturing, but other engineering sectors will be considered.

Recommended 3 years' experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.

Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems.

Knowledge of Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Experience using 2D & 3D CAD software.

Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred.

Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time to budget.

Excellent inter-personal skills to build relationship internally and externally.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Reliable and flexible in their approach.

Desirable but not essential:

Previous experience working with an MES and DC Tooling would be advantageous, however not essential.

Knowledge of machining processes such as Milling and Turning to help support the Supplier Quality Team in route cause analysis.

Previous experience working with engine test cells would be seen as beneficial.
