Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager, preferably with experience of working in a highly regulated industry? If so, this role could be for you. As a member of the Site Leadership team, you will provide leadership, demonstrate ownership and develop Manufacturing Engineering capability throughout the plant encompassing capital and process development projects, with special focus on ownership and responsibility for New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD)

In this role, you will be required to:



###

To provide leadership, demonstrate ownership and develop Manufacturing Engineering capability throughout the plant encompassing capital and process development projects, with special focus on ownership and responsibility for New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD)

Full responsibility for leading the Manufacturing Engineer function to ensure delivery of efficient and effective engineering resource and facilitate best practice to achieve optimisation of processes & technology

###

To lead the Manufacturing Engineering Team and facilitate "best practice" throughout the function to achieve optimisation of processes and technology, including the implementation and control of changes to the manufacturing processes to ensure robust and stable processes

###

Financial and budget management to support capital purchases in line with annual target agreed with the Plant Manager and contribute to the CapEx budget strategy for the plant, circa typically 500k annually

###

Co-ordinate NPI and NPD activities with the PMO, Engineering groups and Operations.

###

Work with the site DBSL to support initiatives and ensure principles of Lean Manufacturing are followed throughout the plant, along with key initiatives as appropriate, together with leading teams engaged in Continuous Improvement activities

###

Develop KPIs & metrics to improve engineering productivity, and set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports, benchmarking against other manufacturing facilities and adoption of benefits

###

Driving the transition of the production areas to agile processes capable of meeting future demands of customers

The essential requirements of the job include:



###

Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent in Mechanical/Production/Mechatronic Engineering

###

In-depth knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering principles and practices, coupled with understanding of assembly, machining and fabrication techniques and limitations

###

Thorough understanding of both the Commercial and Engineering aspects of the business Experience of driving Continuous Improvement activities and proven ability to impart the knowledge to relevant teams, using Six Sigma tools

###

Proven experience of driving positive change in a regulated environment.

###

Financial skills to understand and use business financial data.

###

Demonstrated Project Management.

It would also be a plus if you possess previous experience in:



Experienced in developing and optimising layout within the factory to achieve business objective, including Process Mapping and other Continuous Improvement Tools ###

Costing and return on investment analysis (ROIC / IPA preparation), supported by operational research

###

In depth experience of computer technology and software (Microsoft Project, Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, Access, CATIA, etc.)

###

Able to effectively manage change through effective problem-solving and communication skills

###

Proficient with personal computers and software - Microsoft Office.

###

Operational knowledge of 2D/3D CAD and CAM packages.

Proven PFMEA, DFMEA, DFM, DFA experience.
