Job Purpose:





To provide visible leadership in manufacturing management and drive continuous improvements in all aspects of production. Improve standards in workplace organisation, visual management, plant layout optimisation, mistake proofing, process automation and adoption of best practice technology for world-class standards in safety, quality, cost efficiency, lead times, delivery service levels and development of a high-performing team. Lead structured PDCA improvement projects and problem-solving techniques to implement new ideas and improvements. Ensure manufacturing standards and performance targets are consistently achieved with KPI monitors. Provide effective communication across the business. Provide fast resolution to any issues raised and execute improvements quickly. Drive a manufacturing excellence/lean improvement culture.


Key Accountabilities:




Responsible for leading all manufacturing process improvements, together with continuous improvement activities to achieve operational excellence. Lead the introduction of best practice techniques at the shop-floor level such as workplace organisation, waste elimination, standard work, changeover reduction, plant layout optimisation and mistake proofing. Key results must include cost and lead time reduction. Evaluate all process improvements and execute plans across manufacturing to improve standards to deliver operational excellence. Lead projects for the introduction of new equipment, processes and products. Ensure KPI targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People & Environment are consistently achieved. Provide training and coaching in key competencies to develop a high-performing team. Ensure standard operating procedures and care points in production are adhered to. Excellent standards of manufacturing management, process improvement, CI application, employee engagement, communication, project management, personal discipline, H&S, quality, time management, problem solving and customer service. Demonstrate a positive attitude, lead by example, implement corrective actions quickly and promote employee engagement. Promote new ideas, continuous improvement and learning. Ensure full compliance with ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO50001 and ISO14001 standards. Ensure a safe working environment with the goal of zero harm to employees.

Key Experiences and Skills Required:




Good practical understanding of manufacturing management, continuous improvement, workplace organisation, safe working practices, quality standards, visual management, PDCA problem solving, project management and techniques for operational excellence is required. Good communication, engagement and rapport with employees at all levels is essential. Computer literate with excellent MS Office skills.

Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:




Experienced in manufacturing management, delivering continuous improvements in a fast-paced production environment. IOSH managing safely. Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt. Knowledge of plastic extrusion or injection moulding desirable, but not essential.
