McGeoch Technology Ltd. Have an exciting opportunity for the position of

On-Site Cleaner

. The successful applicant will be based at our production, assembly and test facility in Birmingham City Centre, where we design, manufacture, and repair a range of products and services for defence and industrial markets including ATEX Lighting, Electrical Distribution, Instrumentation and Control solutions.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the

Facilities Manager

you will support our existing team to fulfil our increased cleaning requirements. The successful candidate will be required to clean both the office buildings and the manufacturing areas to ensure our employees are working in a clean and safe environment. Door handles, desks, high impact points will need cleaning at regular intervals . The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a welcoming environment through good hygiene. The toilets, rest areas and other facilities will also require additional cleaning. The canteen will need to be cleaned 3 or 4 times during the 4 hours due to different break shift pattern.

Your duties will include but not be limited to the following.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / EXPERIENCE

- Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors

- Clean commercial buildings by emptying rubbish bins, servicing toilets, and wiping down communal surfaces

- Ensure walkways remain clear and free of debris

- Notify building management of any repairs required

- Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately

SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

- Excellent organisational skills are a must

- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning

- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods (COSHH)

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team

- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision

- We're looking for a cleaning specialist who will exceed expectations.

HOURS OF WORK:

- Monday - Friday 06:00 - 10:00

- There will be an opportunity for extra hours when providing holiday cover within the team.

HOLIDAYS

- 25 Days holiday; a combination of floating days and compulsory factory shutdown over Christmas period.
