An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operative within our MSD Department.

Key Responsibilities




You will play a key role in this department and be responsible for...

Manufacturing hand-crafted components from raw steel tube and strip to precise specifications Operating a range of industrial machinery including Induction Welders, Hydraulic Presses and Steel Slitting Machines Maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout all tasks Performing quality control inspections using calibrated measuring equipment Be able to interpret and follow Manufacturing Works Orders (MWOs) and technical drawings Conducting basic machine inspections and routine maintenance Managing stock control and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards Collaborate with other departments and communicate effectively across all levels

Education and Experience



Vocational qualification related to manufacturing, engineering, or production (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Manufacturing Operations). Experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools. Understanding of basic quality control procedures.

Desirable



Health & Safety certifications e.g., Manual Handling, COSHH. Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools. Understanding of basic quality control procedures. Experience working to production targets and KPIs. Previous involvement in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives. Team-based work experience with good communication and collaboration skills.

High attention to detail, good dexterity and ability to work to tight tolerances Strong task prioritisation and time management skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Clear communication and ability to collaborate across functions.
