We're looking for a Manufacturing Operative to join our (deuterated L-alanine doped triglycene sulphate) TGS Team in the Detectors Business Area in Southampton.

What you will do as Manufacturing Operative:

Work within well-defined procedures, with limited supervision and escalate problems to immediate supervisor for resolution as they arise, in order to complete assigned tasks. Inspect goods prior to stocking to ensure they meet defined specification, using appropriate inspection techniques (including physical measurements, comparison to drawings, counting, visual check for physical damage, documentation and /or certification check). Make judgements, where necessary, on whether products meet defined specification to ensure satisfaction of internal and external customers. Complete basic assembly/ test/ process of a variety of kits using multiple parts in order to make an end product, from specific drawings and instructions. Carry out a range of clearly defined tasks in line with clearly defined written and verbal instructions to ensure allocated work tasks are completed correctly and on time. Receive delivered goods in and book into the SAP system to ensure information is appropriately recorded for onward use. Despatch goods as requested via supervisor; following clear instructions to ensure goods are packaged, sealed and despatched to the customer correctly and on time.

What you'll bring



Knowledge of appropriate screens on SAP system. Understanding of the SHE procedures/ regulations relevant to your area of work. Detailed knowledge of specific procedures. Understanding of basic design/ engineering drawings Able to identify and solve routine problems. Roles at this level may require good level of manual dexterity. May require external certification in order to complete specific tasks/ processes. Ability to work within a shift pattern if required
