ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Manufacturing Projects- Technical Expert, you will collaborate with the Manufacturing Project Leader to deliver Bentley product and Manufacturing ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.

In this role you will be responsible for the successful delivery of new products into Manufacturing, ensuring on time delivery to strategic targets. You will be involved from the initiation of new projects through to (and beyond) the start of production, heavily influencing the delivery of new products in both the Manufacturing team and the Product Line (Project) team, ensuring that the objectives of both are achieved. You will work across all Manufacturing functions to ensure clarity of targets and delivery actions, whilst within the Product Line you will work cross functionally to ensure the best solutions for Bentley are achieved.

This position has responsibility for:

  • Developing, influencing and delivering the strategic technical direction within Manufacturing
  • Leading and providing technical expertise in relation to product planning and development
  • Leading development of new processes and methodologies to enhance business capability and competence
  • Facilitating agile and effective cross functional working where necessary in particular with delivery planning, concern resolution and the coordination of resource
  • Make recommendations and effective presentations to Senior Management, with the ability to explain and break down technical data and set direction.
  • Being the single point of contact within the Product Line Module for Manufacturing
About the Function

The Manufacturing Projects team are the critical link between the Project world and Manufacturing operations, ensuring that both sides are able to achieve the seamless delivery of new products into production.

From site operations, logistics and production planning, through to a unique range of production processes from the early stages of design to launching of new products, the role of manufacturing is to deliver extraordinary results in everything we do.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will ideally be a Manufacturing or Production Manager/ Engineer, with experience of working in new product delivery and/or manufacturing operations, in the Automotive, Aeronautical industries or Supply Chains, with a strong passion for our products.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Proven experience and technical knowledge across a range of Manufacturing areas
  • Experience of processes spanning pre-development through to start of production
  • Experience of leading and working in cross functional teams
  • Experience of Project planning and management
  • Good business awareness and the ability to make and influence strategic decisions within business context
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in German language would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills
  • High degree of organisation, self-motivation and able to work autonomously
