This role combines hands-on quality engineering with process optimisation and operational excellence, supporting the company's long-term goals of efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams, you will enhance process capability, reduce waste, and support the introduction of new products and manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support quality assurance initiatives across manufacturing processes, including process documentation, tooling, validation, and control plans (PPAP, PFMEA, SOPs).
Analyse production and quality data to identify root causes of defects, downtime, and non-conformances, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma principles, structured problem-solving techniques, and digital inspection systems to improve throughput and reduce rework.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
Provide training and guidance to production teams on quality best practices, process controls, and inspection methods to build capability at all levels.
Support cost reduction and efficiency projects through process optimisation and waste minimisation.
Support prototype builds and new product introductions through measurement, inspection, and quality engineering expertise.
Actively contribute to internal and external audits, customer reviews, and supplier quality assessments.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in manufacturing quality assurance, process improvement, and continuous improvement within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Strong working knowledge of ISO-based quality management systems and internal auditing processes.
Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma capability (Green or Black Belt preferred) with a strong track record of problem-solving.
Skilled in data-driven analysis, root cause investigation, and NCR management.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
Desirable Experience
NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Experience in advanced manufacturing, automotive, or prototype development environments.
Familiarity with digital inspection and audit tools (e.g. iAuditor, Q-Pulse, or equivalent).
Experience using SPC systems, CMMs, or data analysis tools such as Minitab.
