Sea Sure Ltd is a family owned business known world wide for manufacturing high quality hardware for the marine industry. The majority of the role will be within our press shop where we manufacture a range of over 300 different parts. The role will focus mainly on the setting and running of our 5 hydraulic presses, Wiring forming 30 tonne power press and our 55 tonne power press.
A manufacturing operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery in a production environment to ensure goods are produced efficiently and meet quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
Set up, monitor, and run production equipment (e.g., Hydraulic & Power Presses, Wire Forming, Drills, Cutting Machines etc
Material Handling:
Select the correct material for the job, record the material used for traceability purposes.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections and basic testing to identify defects, ensuring all products meet internal and customer quality standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance; troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report complex faults to your line manager
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs of production data, including material usage, output quantities, downtime, and quality check results.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential Skills
Technical Aptitude:
Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Attention to Detail:
Precision in monitoring automated lines to catch errors early and prevent costly waste.
Physical Stamina:
Capacity to stand for long shifts, lift heavy objects (often up to 25kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
Problem-Solving:
Identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks or machine malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime.
Teamwork:
Coordinating with other manufacturing staff & your line manager to hit monthly production targets.
Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing facility is required, Ideally past experience setting and running Hydraulic & or Power Presses.

Pay: 12.21-18.34 per hour
