So, what will I be doing?

We are looking for our next manufacturing shift manager to take over our day shift at our Newton Abbot site in Devon where we produce our Desserts and Ice Creams.



As a Shift manager you will be accountable for all operational aspects of the Newton Abbot site whilst on shift, so management of large teams in a manufacturing environment is essential.



Our shifts are 12 hour, 6am to 6pm 4 days on and 4 days off.

Key responsibilities:


Meeting operational plans (both production and hygiene) Ensuring satisfactory handover of information to following shift, and escalate where appropriate Financial budget adherence Driving continuous improvement culture across the shift team, identifying improvement activities and following through to completion Working with other shifts and stakeholders realising improvement activities Leading investigation/identification of root cause for health and safety breaches, food safety or quality breaches, or mechanical breakdowns Sharing learnings and amending procedures to prevent reoccurrence Maintaining shift training compliance and recording keeping Ensuring all relevant Job Breakdown Sheets (standard operating procedures) are maintained Site contact for external hygiene chemical supplier, ensuring maintenance of chemical stock levels are maintained

You will work a 4 on 4 off permanent day shift pattern, beginning work at 0600 and finishing at 1800.
