This is a practical, hands-on role,
perfect for someone with strong metal fabrication experience
who enjoys problem-solving and taking ownership. You'll be at the intersection of engineering, quality, and customer success - helping prevent production issues, investigating non-conformities, and making sure every order goes out right.
Fractory is a fast-growing on-demand manufacturing platform. We connect engineers with production capacity and take full responsibility for every part ordered. Our goal is to help customers manufacture smarter, with less time wasted on emails, sourcing, and back-and-forth.
What You'll Be Doing
Support production orders by identifying potential quality concerns before they happen
Create and send QA requests to manufacturing partners
Investigate customer non-conformities and determine practical resolutions (e.g. rework, replacement)
Review incoming documentation/images for compliance
Manage QA ticket and reclamation pipelines (you'll own the process!)
Communicate with internal teams and partners to ensure quick, clear resolution
You have
Hands-on
experience
in metal fabrication -
sheet metal, CNC machining
, welding
Strong
engineering and problem-solving
skills
Experience in
QA, investigating non-conformities
, and resolving them in a manufacturing context
Project management
mindset with execution track record
Confident using digital tools
and switching between platforms
Bonus Points If You Also Have
Experience in a fast-paced order-to-order manufacturing environment
Understanding of commercial or subcontracting workflows
Knowledge of QA requirements in outsourced production

A Typical Day Might Look Like This
Reviewing production orders in the queue and spotting any quality risks before manufacturing starts
Creating and sending tailored QA instructions to our manufacturing partners (images, drawings, checklists)
Checking incoming QA documents and photos from the factory to make sure they meet our standards
Jumping into a customer reclamation: reading their message, investigating what went wrong, checking partner feedback, and deciding on a practical fix (refund? rework? remake?)
Logging everything clearly on our platform so your teammates always know the status
Collaborating with Account Managers and Project Engineers to keep customers happy while solving things fast
Switching gears often - from chasing down missing documents to resolving a high-priority defect
Talking to partners about why a part failed and how to avoid the issue next tim
