Mechanical Engineering Supervisor - Manufacturing
Medway | 35,000 - 40,000 DOE | Mon-Fri, Early Finish Fridays
Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a knack for problem-solving and leading a team?
Do you thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment where no two days are the same?
We're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to take ownership of a busy production department within a well-established manufacturing business. This is a key role for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving technical challenges, and developing people.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and organising the day-to-day operations of a busy department
Fault finding on bespoke machinery, diagnosing issues and getting equipment back up and running
Undertaking tool changes and ensuring machines are set correctly
Training and mentoring operatives to build team flexibility and capability
Liaising with production teams, toolroom and maintenance to meet targets and optimise performance
Supporting continuous improvement activities including Gemba walks
What you'll need:
Strong mechanical engineering background - apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent
Solid hands-on experience in a production/manufacturing environment
Proven knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience fault finding and maintaining bespoke machinery
Confidence supervising, mentoring and organising people
Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills
