Job Summary



We are seeking an experienced and motivated Woodmill & Frames Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will lead a skilled team responsible for producing high-quality wooden frames and components that form the foundation of our pieces. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure production targets and quality standards are met, and drive continuous improvement across the workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing to make a tangible impact on product quality and team performance.

Duties



Ensure that production timelines and product quality meet or exceed customer expectations. Regularly monitor team members' performance against KPIs. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve skills and productivity Provide regular updates to management on team performance, challenges, and needs. Ensure that team members are informed about company updates, changes in policies, and any other relevant information. Encourage flexible and adaptive work practices to respond quickly to changes in production demands or customer requirements Lead the team in implementing new processes or adjustments swiftly and effectively. Lead the team in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. Manage inventory and supplies to ensure that production is not delayed due to lack of materials. Optimise the use of tools and equipment to maximise efficiency. Assign daily tasks to the team based on production schedules. Ensure efficient use of resources to meet production targets. Promote a collaborative environment where employees feel heard and supported. Facilitate communication between different departments (e.g., design, production, quality) to ensure smooth operations. Address and resolve conflicts among team members promptly and fairly. Deal with disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues in line with company policy. Mediate disputes and ensure a positive and productive work environment. Collaborate with the HR Department to support employee engagement. Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing teams in a manufacturing setting. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and management. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety regulations. Ability to motivate team members and foster a collaborative work environment. Proficiency in using manufacturing software or systems for tracking production data is a plus. Attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance. Skills and Experience



Proven experience in woodworking, or furniture/frame manufacturing, preferably in a high-volume production environment. Experience supervising or leading a team, with strong leadership and people management skills. Knowledge of wood types, joinery techniques, and frame construction for upholstered furniture. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and production plans. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a woodworking/manufacturing environment. Experience with machinery and tools used in wood processing and frame assembly. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads, meet deadlines, and manage resources efficiently. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards. Effective communication skills to liaise with production teams, management, and other departments. Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
