We have an opportunity for a someone to join our production team working within our manufacturing machine prep department at our site in Tankersley on a full-time (37.5 hours) basis.
The Role
Reporting to the shift team leader, the Machine Buddy role is a critical part of the Prep Team, responsible for assisting our machine operatives to ensure the production line runs smoothly and efficiently and that our machine operatives have the correct product on time so that they can maximise the running time of our machines. You will be part of a team, working in unity with each other but there may be occasions where you will need to work independently on your own depending on the shift requirements.
Full training will be provided. This role is a physical role and involves manual and heavy lifting and extended periods of walking or standing within the manufacturing factory.
The role covers the following areas of competency:
Follow instruction to complete all works allocated, reporting any issues to line manager
Competent product knowledge and understanding of our end-to-end production process
Lift doors and equipment ranging between 15-25kg
Safely and competently lift, and move, doors and product as required
Understand the importance of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) & comply with PPE requirements
Maintain a clean and tidy workspace and follow the 'clean as you go' rules at all times
Complete pre-shift checks as required
Report any health and safety issues and comply with standard H&S policies and principles
Demonstrate a basic understanding of the CNC, Saw and Edgebander machines to be able to support the machinists competently
Work in partnership with the prep team members and other areas throughout the production line
Education and Knowledge
Manufacturing knowledge/skills is desirable, not essential
FLT counterbalance or Isle master (flexi truck) is desirable, not essential
Health and Safety knowledge, particularly regarding PPE and safety critical environments is desirable, not essential
