PPT Group is growing, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Technician. Based primarily within the assembly team, this role offers the chance to develop a well-rounded skill set through cross-training across the broader manufacturing operations, gaining hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle.

Some of the Responsibilities of the role are:



Assembly and testing

To assemble mechanical and electro mechanic products for force and torque testing equipment for PPT Group products following manufacturing procedures and work instructions.

To make up various types of sub-assemblies, basic looms and cables for later use in stand and instrumentation builds.

To advise the Quality Department on any quality issues arising from stand and gauge build if components do not fit together as expected.

To test and identify as tested all production items including PCB assemblies, cables, looms and fully built items using test procedures and equipment relevant to each job. This may include using the LVD machine for all mains powered test stands.

There may also be a requirement on rare occasions to assist with the repair of product returned by customers for repair and/or calibration.

Lifting and packing test stands for departure. 10+kg weight expected.

Stores / Goods In / Dispatch

To pick components for work orders (known as 'kitting') in accordance with lists required. This requires the ability for accuracy in counting components.

To receipt goods from Calibration and Shop Floor and to carry out adjustments as and when required.

To be able to book into stores Goods In materials following the in house computer system Dynamics AX. This part of the role will involve liaising with both Purchasing and Quality Departments.

To be able to Dispatch goods leaving the facilities.

Forklift driving to load and unload.

Calibration and Instrumentation

To calibrate PPT Group force and torque test products following procedures, work instructions and the daily Sales Order Review.

To liaise with your Supervisor and members of the Service Team to determine calibration priorities and to ensure calibration deadline dates are met and maintained.

Liaise with both the Quality and Production Engineering Departments if non-conformances arise.

To only follow issued procedures and work instructions whilst working and ensure corrections and amendments are actioned at point of discovery.

Ensure all daily targets are met or exceeded.

General

To follow work instructions and procedures accurately ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are followed.

To work well with colleagues as part of the Manufacturing team following advice and guidance from the Supervisor and Manager.

To respond to any reasonable request made by the Supervisor or Manager to assist in the smooth running of the department.

To undertake regular stocktakes throughout the financial year.

Employment & Educational Background



Experience in a Experience in a Manufacturing Assembly environment is preferable. Experience of using Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills.
