Pay Rate: \xc2\xa313.40ph - \xc2\xa315.15ph

gap personnel are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Operators based within the Wax department at global manufacturing giants Howmet Aerospace located at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, EX2

You will be joining a company of innovators and makers. The site help make quieter, more fuel-efficient engines for airplanes and gas turbines. Their market-leading aluminium wheels help trucks save fuel and reduce maintenance while rolling in style.

The role of a Manufacturing Operator is a key position within not only the operations of the site, but also within the supply chain into both the aerospace and gas industries. The site is solely focused on 2 factors: Quality & Safety.

As a Manufacturing Operator within the Wax department your main responsibilities are:

• High level carpentry finishing
• Careful handling of delicate items
• Preparing, setting and loading of components
• Working from drawings to ensure that item(s) are finished to customer specification
• Running quality control checks and recording any defects or defaults
• High level of focus around EH&S.
• Attention to detail and strong quality focus.
• Work in a synchronized manner as part of a small team in close proximity to molten metal.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance and problem-solving activities.
• Maintain an organized and efficient work area to ensure that casting times are achieved.
• To carry out any other reasonable duty as may be required.

Within this department, you will benefit from having experience or transferable skills such as;

Attention to detail, assembly, finishing, componentry, PCB, quality control, product testing, machine operator.

Successful candidates will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. All suitable candidates will complete a site interview, medical health assessment, drug & alcohol test and induction prior to starting their assignment.
