Contract Type: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Reports to: Training Delivery and Quality Manager
Location: CMN Office, Falmouth but will be required to travel, primarily within Cornwall

Purpose: To be responsible for delivery and development of engineering training and assessment, undertaking vocational qualifications and apprenticeship programmes in engineering industries. To ensure that teaching, learning and assessment is of the highest quality and meets and exceeds customer/ learner expectations.

The role is seeking individuals with skills and experience in all or some of the following:

Marine Engineering Sheet metal working Welding Hydraulics Electro-mechanical maintenance Fluid power systems
Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the enrolment of learners and apprentices when starting their training to confirm appropriate apprenticeship standard has been selected, making sure all documentation is shared with the Apprenticeship Delivery and Quality Assurance Manager and Trainee Contract Manager. Be responsible for managing a caseload of apprentices across Engineering Standards, and other apprenticeship pathways as required by the Training Delivery and Quality Manager, and be the first point of contact with the apprentice and their employer ensuring:
- all resources to enable learning to take place and recording of progress is arranged and allocated.- workplace assessment & training is carried out- learner records, information and data is kept up to date and relevant and shared appropriately with the Claims and Operations Team.- a safe learning environment is maintained by supporting apprentices in understanding how to keep themselves, and others, safe and notifying management of any risks.- Deliver IAG to support each learners' decision making and progression ambitions through careers guidance, signposting to the relevant organisations and agencies.

Take responsibility for the progress and achievement of all learners within your caseload ensuring timely completions are achieved and are in line with CMN's quality improvement plans.



Relentlessly strive for continuous improvement in quality and provide excellent customer service to CMN members, learners, internal and external customers. Ensure engineering apprenticeships standards and qualifications are delivered, monitored and assessed in the employer's work place to the required standard, meeting awarding organisation and Ofsted requirements. Make sure effective assessment of learners is maintained, and that feedback is provided, so that the learning meets individual need, supports improvement and enables the learner to achieve their goals and raise aspirations. Utilise a wide range of teaching and learning tools to create and plan interesting and engaging learning opportunities. Use and analyse programme data to support effective course management, through CMN's e-portfolio system and utilise relevant software programmes with teaching and learning information for engineering and other related qualifications. Attend caseload reviews with the Apprenticeship Delivery and Quality Assurance Manager and CMN standardisation meetings as required, providing learner information and progress briefings as requested. Contribute to, and support, IV and awarding organisation standardisation visits and meetings for relevant qualificationsRole as a CMN Employee: Ability to inspire and engage learners to achieve their full potential and a passion for teaching and learning. Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to self-motivate; in particular, have excellent time management skills and have an ability to work towards challenging targets. Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

Occupational competence in Engineering for a minimum of 5 years Experience of the following: Marine Engieering, sheet metal working, welding, hydraulics, electro-mechanical maintenance, and fluid power system. Experience of all is preferable; however experience of one or more will also be considered. Relevant and demonstrable experience in delivering high quality engineering training and apprenticeships, preferably in a business environment. Educated to degree level or hold a relevant occupational qualification in the subject area. Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant teaching qualification, assessor's qualifications (A1 or Level 3 TAQA or CAVA Level 3). Demonstrable experience of developing programmes of learning to meet employer/ learner and awarding body requirements. Ability to support quality improvement initiatives A high level of computer literacy, paricularly in the use of information data.
Desirable Criteria:

Understanding and knowledge of engineering environment and engineering training products and delivery Wider experience in the Engineering environment. Passion for all things maritime and Cornwall Ability to assist both setting up and delivering learning programmes. Experience of supporting other teaching staff Experience of working with awarding organisations and Ofsted inspections.
