We are seeking a highly competent and versatile Multi-Skilled Marine Technician to join our marine operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic components. This role involves maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation work across a variety of vessels and marine equipment, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on marine engines (inboard and outboard), propulsion systems, generators, and auxiliary systems.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot marine electrical systems including batteries, navigation electronics, lighting, and control systems.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems such as steering, winches, and lifting gear.
Conduct routine servicing and inspections in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
Install and commission new systems and equipment on new builds or retrofits.
Liaise with clients, vessel owners, and suppliers in a professional manner.
Assist with haul-outs, launches, and sea trials as needed.
Work collaboratively with other technicians.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Trade qualification or equivalent experience in marine engineering, mechanical, or electrical systems.
Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in marine maintenance and repair.
Familiarity with a variety of vessel types (e.g., commercial, leisure, defense).
Hold a valid driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge in marine electrical systems or electronics (e.g., NMEA, DC & AC systems)
GRP & gel coat skills.
RYA PB2 with commercial endorsement.
Marine engine servicing and repairs.
