Position Project Engineer



The KML project engineer is a dynamic position for a highly motivated, self-sufficient, innovative, adaptable and resourceful engineer with good specific skills and background in some/all of the following; marine civil engineering, specialist merchant vessel operations/engineering, offshore support/construction vessels, marine structural engineering/applied naval architecture, or subsea installation/ocean engineering/marine renewables installation.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist with preparation of engineering schedules and forecasts.

Design marine structures using CAD software in cooperation with a naval architect and lifting engineer.

Support the Company fleet and personnel in the delivery of projects and in vessel operations.

Development and delivery of project deliverables to a high standard.

Support aspects of the fabrication, transportation and installation of marine structures.

Provide input into Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the marine operations.

Contribute to the drafting of work tenders, bid documents and new business pitches.

Participate in Client/contractor meetings resolving Client/engineering project issues.

Represent our clients to contractors and subcontractors during fabrication and installation projects.

Nature of work undertaken:



The successful candidate will join a skilled engineering team and will be expected to be involved with all aspects of the departments work with a real emphasis in quality, accuracy and professionalism. The work will include assisting with the tender, the delivery and the close out of contracts, together with the general running of a diverse marine service company. You will be provided with training and support from within the company.

Required Personal skills and qualifications:



Degree level or equivalent qualification in a technical engineering discipline.

Ability to problem solve and deal with quickly changing circumstances, yet ensure an emphasis on quality is maintained.

Ability to support several projects simultaneously.

Excellent written communication skills.

Computer literacy with CAD ability.

Proven commercial engineering and project engineering experience.

Personnel management experience.

Professional report writing experience.

Relationships:



You will report directly to the Project Manager or Business Manager, who together coordinate the project workload. Liaising with our lifting engineer, fleet manager and naval architect to complete projects to challenging timescales.

The position will include:



Full-time hours nominal 5 days in 7 - flexible to suit tidal working, weekend working. No overtime or hourly rates are payable other than in exceptional circumstances at the company's discretion. Weekends worked will be paid pro rata of your salary. Annual holiday entitlement of 5.6weeks / 28 days including bank holidays. Development and training plan: KML is committed to continuing personal and professional development. We will look to your continuation of this and will agree to a training plan with you.
Salary scale used as a guide, competitive Salary offered and open to negotiation for the right candidate with the relevant skills & experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
