About the role


Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.

What you'll be doing


Job Purpose / Overview

Supports the offshore Agent in the planning, coordination, and execution of marine construction activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Takes ownership of specific sections of offshore work, managing daily operations, progress tracking, and reporting.
Assists with the development and review of construction documentation including method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.
Monitors offshore productivity and quality performance, escalating issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.


Interfaces with onshore support teams, Offshore Superintendents, and Subcontractor teams to ensure clear communication and delivery continuity across project phases.
Who we're looking for


Essential

Experience in offshore / marine civil engineering, geotechnical, or UXO works.
Strong understanding of safe systems of work and HSE expectations in offshore environments.
Ability to coordinate works to technical, quality and schedule requirements.
Proven record of taking ownership of tasks and delivering independently.
Familiar with the development of permits and offshore safety documentation.
Effective communicator and team player with strong work ethic.
Flexible approach to working hours and offshore deployment.
Proficient in programme development and productivity tracking.


Desirable

Awareness of NEC or other contract forms.
Familiarity with quality management systems and NCR close-out.
Experience working within principal contractor delivery teams.


Qualifications & Certifications

The role holder is expected to have one or more of the following:

Formal qualification in construction, engineering or maritime operations (e.g. HNC/HND/BSc/BEng) in Construction, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
CSCS card and SMSTS (or equivalent HSE site management training).
Sea Survival certification or willingness to obtain as part of onboarding (e.g., STCW, OPITO-approved BOSIET, or equivalent).
Holds a current driving licence
Relevant offshore/marine construction experience.
