Voltempo is developing our DC HyperCharger MCS (Megawatt Charging System) solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively internationally as the transport sector electrifies. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, grid connection, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its domestic and international shareholders and its role under the UK Government eFreight2030 programme (www.efreight2030.com), where it is leads a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators, truck OEMs and other partners, to deploy the UK's first eHGV depot charging network.
About the Role
:
This market analyst role will play a critical role in analysing the emerging market for commercial EVs and other non-passenger car sectors we may consider targeting - both domestic and international. You will leverage data generated organically and secured from third parties helping create data-based insights to support the Business Development Team achieve its targeted growth and order intake objectives.
The duties will be wide ranging including supporting the business' web marketing activities, collecting data from web analytics, sales reports, market research, tracking customer and competitor behaviour and market trends. The role will also report on marketing performance, to gain deep insight into how the company can best target the needs of different market sectors, making marketing campaigns more effective, improving advertising and attracting new customers to boost sales and grow the company. The role will support from time to time, research and development grant funding programmes we may win, where market research and analysis is included as part of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the collection of market intelligence and subsequent market analysis and reporting.
Developing and managing the business activities for capturing information and analysing it to help make data-based decisions to support the Business Development Team in achieving their objectives.
Gather, clean, and analyse datasets and qualitative market intelligence related to current target markets (e.g. fleet logistics, retailer and manufacturers), new sectors the business is investigating and the energy sector, to help identify trends and inform strategies for revenue generation and product development.
Identify trends in grid connection, energy generation and micro grid solutions for EV charging applications to inform infrastructure solution development.
Provide data on competitor solutions to help Product Managers in their development of EV charging products.
Coordinate the regular update of contacts and discussion logs within the CRM system (not yet in place and the role may lead CRM implementation).
'Ad hoc' support to the BD team on small tasks that arise from time to time, including delivery of market research work packages in grant funded programmes.
Skills and capabilities:
Research and analysis experience, including understanding of database development and maintenance
Proven experience in supporting data-based market research campaigns, preferably within a start-up environment selling engineered solutions
Knowledge of the EV market and/or the logistics industry within the UK, desirable
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively and independently
Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making
Excellent written communication, reporting and presentation skills
Proactivity - you will continually push for more and suggest and implement processes and ways of working to be better
Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience of CRM systems desirable
Some project management experience ideal
Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Effective communication and collaboration with staff to share or gather information and resolve issues.
