Job Description

We are seeking a confident, inquisitive, and tech-savvy communicator to join our growing Sales and Marketing team. This is a varied and adaptive role, supporting customer engagement, research, and early-stage sales activity across the business.

KaarbonTech is a leading data and software company specialising in managing highway assets for local authorities across the UK. Our innovative SMART technology, combined with efficient and collaborative working practices, enables us to significantly enhance our customers' operational efficiency. We currently work with over 40% of local authorities in England, helping them automate asset inspection, maintenance planning, and risk-based decision-making.

You'll play a key part in identifying opportunities, building early relationships, and ensuring that insights gathered through conversation, research, and observation directly support our wider business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities



Engage directly with local authorities, partners, and stakeholders by phone, email, and online meetings to explore needs, challenges, and potential opportunities. Conduct structured research into local authorities and their contractors, identifying trends, procurement cycles, and business development opportunities. Capture and share meaningful insight from customer conversations to help shape sales priorities and outreach strategies. Demonstrate new product functionality, gather feedback and explore new requirements Support the sales team in following up leads, scheduling meetings, recording outcomes, and ensuring CRM data remains accurate and up to date. Assist with preparing for customer meetings and events, ensuring the sales team has accurate information and relevant background intelligence. Represent KaarbonTech professionally at events and exhibitions where required.

Desirable Experience



Experience working within or alongside local government, highways, or infrastructure sectors (public or private side). Experience in a role involving customer research, business development, or intelligent outbound communication. Familiarity with public sector data sources and an ability to interpret organisational structures, responsibilities, and procurement information. An understanding of public sector procurement and project lifecycles.

Salary and Details



Salary:

Up to 32,000 per annum (depending on experience).

Location:

Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel for events, meetings, and training.

Hours:

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible SMART working options available).
