ABOUT THE ROLE

The role will deliver a range of integrated marketing activity with a particular emphasis on effective matrix working across teams within Global Marketing and Business (GMB) as well as directly with senior stakeholders in the CHASE programme. Balancing a strategic view, with a proven track record of implementing complex projects, we are looking for looking for someone to lead, implement and deliver the integrated marketing and communications plan for the CHASE project including content and channel strategies. The role holder will represent GMB positively across the university and work directly with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, therefore strong stakeholder and project management skills are essential.

The Marketing and Communications Lead for CHASE will be responsible for:

  • Leading on the development of an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned to key milestones and targets for CHASE and an annual plan that delivers against that strategy.
  • Lead on delivering that plan, working with key teams in GMB and stakeholders in CHASE in a way that drives reputation, and over time investment, externally and engagement internally.
  • Lead and attend external networking and events activities.
  • Direct and develop content and messaging accurately tailored for key internal and external audiences and drive through appropriate channels including digital.
  • Membership of CHASE operational and steering groups, providing strategic and tactical advice and guidance on marketing and communications issues.
  • Leading and creating data driven, targeted multi-channel campaigns across bought, owned and earned channels to deliver against agreed KPIs.
  • Developing and repurposing content appropriately across various internal and external channels including intranet, student portal, web, social, digital advertising, CRM, telecentre for a B2B Audience.
  • Store, catalogue and share content via central DAM system to enable all stakeholders access to new and existing content
  • Manage approval processes as required, including finance and legal.
  • Work with colleagues in the Business Campaigns Marketing team to ensure a.ll CHASE activity is aligned to broader strategy and plan.
  • Work with colleagues in Corporate Communications and Reputation Management (CCRM) and wider GMB to support a marcomms strategy that aligns and integrates Health and Social Equity issues as a core part of other campaigns.
  • Work with CCRM and Student Recruitment teams to integrate and implement staff, current and potential student comms as part of the wider CHASE maromms plan to drive awareness, understanding of and engagement in CHASE within the University community.
  • Work with CCRM to integrate public affairs/ political engagement activity into overall CHASE marcomms plan.
  • Establish and agree key objectives and KPIs; use data gathering and analytical methods to measure and evaluate the performance, impact and value of marcomms activity and accurately interpret patterns and trends.
  • Deliver campaign evaluations, analysing and reporting on performance and key learnings. Presenting information to colleagues and GMB management.
  • Drive continuous improvement: testing new channels, opportunities and relationships; analysing and utilising data to enhance reputation building activity around CHASE.
  • Work collaboratively and/or co-ordinate cross market projects across the marketing function where required.
  • Establish culture of innovation continuous improvement within the team and delivery partners (e.g. agencies).

ABOUT THE TEAM

This role will report into the Business Campaigns Marketing Manager with dotted line to the CHASE Programme Director and the Corporate Communications and Reputation Management Team. The Business Campaigns Marketing Team sits within the Global Marketing and Business Department and works on a number of focused campaigns, targeting business audiences.

ABOUT YOU

What you\'ll bring to the role:
  • Be flexible and agile to adapt plans based on external influences, strategy and policy changes.
  • Work within a GMB cross market content team, embedding CHASE content and narrative inside wider content strategy and across specialist teams.
  • Independently develop and maintain relationships with key senior university colleagues and external stakeholders, providing professional counsel where appropriate and driving profile activity.
  • Demonstrably excellent campaign leadership experience.
  • Work with colleagues in GMB to brief and manage media and PR agencies, to develop and deliver effective communications campaigns that deliver against objectives and ROI.
  • Excellent experience of digital content marketing.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive and effective working relationships with staff both within and outside the University, with key stakeholders and feel comfortable managing project teams.
  • Experience of writing marketing content for use on the web and e-mails.
  • Using CMS systems, creating webpages, user journeys, testing and monitoring performance.
