Role purpose:



To fully support the COB and Branded buying teams in the creation, development and management of marketing assets including packaging and photography. To review current packaging in line with new orders placed and update artwork to meet legal changes and brand guidelines.

Packaging:



Proactive and creative development of all packaging for new products including customer own label in line with target product positioning, brand appeal and sales channel. Improving the design and performance of our existing packaging portfolio, and to ensure that opportunities to optimise costs are identified and realised. Designing and creating pack formats with the design team and suppliers which pass drop test and sustainability standards, whilst achieving cost and commercial objectives. This includes : Fully specifying pack sizes, formats, substrates and print finishes and fastenings, appreciating product type variance and sales channel requirements e.g. shelf sizes, ecommerce compliance. Writing pack construction or cutter guide briefs, sampling and testing packaging fit, safety and compliance. Creatively writing pack copy ensuring communication of key selling features, consistency with brand and customer identity including tone of voice and overall guidelines, legal requirements, pack format and any additional marketing communications e.g. QR codes, etc. Liaise with internal teams including the buying, design, QA and merchandising teams and external suppliers to ensure 100% critical path compliance. Extensive proofreading to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple pack variances within and across multiple brands. Direct liaison with own label customers for ALL packaging projects and adhering to their own specific processes / requirements. Ensuring consistency of design, product detail, print and material specification. Checking and approving all artworks whether generated or supplied by their own label. Tracking supply source packaging process from proofing to gold seal standards. Managing all supplier packaging stocks for cost effective print production. Review sales analysis, competitors and market trends to recommend future packaging projects / rebranding exercises / pack formats. Review packaging and arrange updates reorders in line with the weekly reorder sheet.

Marketing:



Create engaging photography briefs to support brand and customer communications. Perform operational marketing processes; uploading content to platforms, proof reading and checking of print proofs, processing of product imagery, etc. To be the company ambassador and knowledge bank for our brands and ranges both internally and externally.

Essential experience :



Sole management of multi-faceted projects to tight deadlines An understanding of consumer goods NPD processes and / or experience of retail merchandising An understanding of retail and sales management Creative briefing to agencies, photographers, videographers and stylists including copywriting

Desired experience:



Knowledge of packaging cutter guides and artwork creation. Experience of working with overseas suppliers. Knowledge of print processes, finishes and materials. Awareness and knowledge of sustainable materials and legislative changes.

Technical / Functional skills:



Exceptional project and critical path management skills. Strong verbal communication skills & excellent written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Problem identifier / problem solver. Proficient user of software and technology, from file transfer and data management to MS office tools such as Word and PowerPoint (or Google Docs equivalent). Preferable to have advanced Excel skills e.g. VLookup and Illustrator / Photoshop skills / Trello knowledge. Starter / finisher.

Key Performance Indicators:



Management of single SKU projects to achieve critical path deadlines. Efficiency ratings in all elements of packaging creation e.g. cutter creation, artwork amends, proof approvals, cost savings.
