If so, you might be just the person we\'re looking for. We have an opportunity for an apprentice to join Portsmouth City Council\'s marketing communications team as an apprentice marketing and communications assistant. Working across a range of council services, this role will assist with campaigns that help the council deliver its goals and improve the lives of people in the city. You\'ll work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Marketing during your time with us, which will include dedicated study time to help you achieve this A-Level equivalent qualification. What is the role? The post will be responsible for providing support for our busy marketing and communications team, getting involved in media monitoring, digital and social media, events and collateral creation and production, as well as providing essential administrative support. The role will undertake tasks including:

  • Preparing daily media monitoring reports.
  • Supporting the design, production and dispatch of marketing and communications collateral, including printed campaign materials.
  • Researching, writing, and building digital content, including for web, social media and email marketing.
  • Taking phone calls from a range of internal and external customers.
  • Providing administrative support to the wider team, including data entry, managing calendars, identifying venues for events and other administrative support as needed.
The role may require some evening and weekend work, where time off in lieu will be offered. Information on the course As part of your apprenticeship, you would receive a spot on the Marketing Assistant Apprenticeship L3 at Chichester College. This apprenticeship is underpinned by the CIM; using the syllabus of the CIM Marketing Principles module as the knowledge element of the course. The 18-month course will start with an onsite induction at 1.30pm on 23 January 2024. You will undertake learning over 13 months to Gateway, then progress to the End Point Assessment where knowledge, skills and behaviours are showcased to the CIM, via various assessment methods over a six-month period.   • Experience of working or volunteering in a communications environment are preferred, but not essential.

This role will give you an insight into the opportunities available within the communications and marketing sector and will provide you with on the job work experience which will help you to take the next steps in your marketing and communications career. Things to consider You will need to bring in your passport and visa or evidence of immigration permission when you enrol so that we assess your eligibility to receive Government funding for the Apprenticeship programme. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is \xc2\xa35.28 per hour (As of the 1st April 2023).This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
