Marketing Automation Specialist

Edinburgh, SCT, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

###

What you will do as Marketing Automation Specialist

The Marketing Automation Specialist will be a subject matter expert in marketing technology - particularly Adobe CRM and related marketing automation platforms. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between our product and marketing teams, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the platform is configured, optimised, and leveraged effectively to drive business outcomes.

The Marketing Automation Specialist will focus on translating high-level objectives into detailed requirements, overseeing operational efficiency, and proactively identifying new opportunities to streamline campaigns and processes. Since real business value is realised only when end-users can effectively utilise the platform, this role requires excellent communication skills and empathy for both technical teams and business users.

Your tasks:

Platform and Process Analysis:

Assess current Adobe CRM and marketing tools for inefficiencies and collaborate with stakeholders to document existing processes (AS-IS) and define future goals (TO-BE).

Requirement Gathering and Documentation:

Collect and prioritise functional and non-functional requirements, write user stories, and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure clear traceability from requirements to implementation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as the main liaison between marketing, data, and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and timely delivery of features; collaborate with the Selections team for data and campaign segmentation.

Change and Release Management:

Perform impact and risk analysis for new features and integrations, oversee user acceptance testing and training, and manage change activities for smooth adoption by marketing teams.

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Support:

Monitor platform usage, campaign performance, and user feedback to recommend improvements, stay updated with industry trends, and collaborate with Product Owners to shape the marketing technology roadmap, aligning it with business goals and ROI. ###

About you

Your qualities:

Marketing Automation Expertise:

Proficient in Adobe CRM (Adobe Campaign, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) with expertise in campaign workflows, segmentation, personalisation, and deliverability best practices.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities:

Skilled in breaking down complex problems into actionable steps and interpreting data to drive improvements and measure performance.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to empathise with stakeholders and build consensus.

Business Analysis and Documentation:

Experienced in business process modelling, creating user stories, conducting impact/risk analysis, and documenting AS-IS/TO-BE processes.

Collaboration and Technical Expertise:

Collaborative team player with a solid understanding of marketing tech integrations and a growth mindset, eager to improve both technical and interpersonal skills.
