The role
The Communications Manager plays a central role in delivering clear, consistent, and professional communication across Blume and to external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Group Head of Internal and External Communications, you'll lead Blume's communications activity - collaborating with internal teams including People, Projects, and Business Development, and supporting senior leaders to deliver clear, consistent messaging that aligns with business priorities.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering corporate messaging, content creation, and stakeholder communication. You'll ensure information is shared effectively across channels, audiences, and teams - supporting business initiatives and keeping colleagues engaged and aligned.
You'll also manage and mentor the Creative Engagement Executive, providing strategic guidance while they lead on day-to-day engagement and culture campaigns.
Key responsibilities
Corporate and strategic communications
Develop and deliver internal and external communication plans aligned to Blume's business priorities and growth strategy.
Draft and distribute corporate updates, leadership messages, project communications, and business announcements.
Provide communication support for initiatives led by People, Projects, and Business Development teams.
Partner with senior stakeholders to shape messaging and ensure clarity, consistency, and brand alignment.
Produce high-quality written content for presentations, reports, and leadership communications.
Stakeholder and cross-team collaboration
Work closely with the People team to plan and deliver internal campaigns and employee updates.
Support the Business Development team with communications for new campaigns, events, and market-facing activity.
Partner with the Projects team to ensure clear communication plans for operational and change projects.
Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure timely, transparent, and aligned messaging.
Act as a communications advisor to internal stakeholders, offering practical guidance to enhance clarity and impact.
Digital channels and content
Oversee Blume's website, intranet, and digital channels, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and on-brand.
Manage Blume's corporate social media presence (particularly LinkedIn), creating and scheduling content that reflects our brand and activity.
Support the creation and delivery of internal and external email communications.
Collaborate with colleagues across communications and marketing to ensure cohesive storytelling across all channels.
Team leadership and development
Line-manage and mentor the Creative Engagement Executive, supporting internal engagement, newsletters, and events.
Foster collaboration between corporate and engagement-led communications.
Encourage continuous improvement and professional growth within the communications function.
Skills and experience
5+ years' experience in communications, corporate affairs, or marketing within a fast-paced or multi-brand environment.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a clear and confident communication style.
Experience managing websites (CMS), social media, and email tools.
Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging messages.
Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
Experience managing or mentoring others is desirable.
