About the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship



The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) is a national charity supporting former civil servants and their dependants. We provide a range of charitable services to our beneficiaries including befriending schemes (home and telephone visits and pen pal), advice and information and a local community group network that provides social and leisure engagement. We are supported by annual supporters and fundraising donations.

Salary:

21,000 pro rata (9,523 p/a) - PLEASE NOTE PRO RATA SALARY

Contract Type

: 2 Year Fixed Term (after 3-month probation period)

Terms

: Terms and conditions detailed in Contract of Employment include 17 days' annual leave, plus the days falling between Christmas and New Year; Bank Holidays, membership of a staff health benefits and leisure/discounts schemes.

The successful candidate will be involved with the delivery of our Marketing & Communications plan for 2025 and beyond. The post will involve a mix of stakeholder management, delivering presentations to stakeholders online and in person, support at events (online and in-person) and the creation of imaginative content to support the promotion of the CSRF's charitable services and an interaction with stakeholders.

It requires someone who is exceptionally well organised, resilient, and efficient, is used to dealing with a diverse workload and has excellent communications skills.

The role is office based but some external meetings and visits maybe required.

Responsibilities



Communications & Marketing



Support Marketing & Communications Manager with the delivery of the CSRF's marketing and communications plan for its Diamond Anniversary year in 2025 and beyond.

Building and maintaining stakeholder engagement to marketing the CSRF's charitable services to new audiences within the Civil Service and Public Sector. Delivering presentations to stakeholders online and in person. Participating in events (in-person and online) to further the delivery of the CSRF's marketing and communications plan. Creating imaginative and innovative content for the CSRF's social media channels (e.g. videos/video editing).

Person Specification



Essential:



Exceptional administration and organisational skills (truthful, empathetic, thorough)

-Confident to deliver presentations (powerpoint, pdf) in person and/or via video.

Highly computer literate, confident and proficient with a knowledge of Mailchimp and Canva an advantage.

Self-motivated, resilient, punctual, reliable, able to maintain confidentiality.

Excellent written and spoken (face-to-face and phone) communication skills.

Ability to show initiative in developing the role and to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to work flexibly in a small team, building strong day-to-day relationships with colleagues.

Able to manage a varied workload, balancing scheduled tasks with requests for assistance from the team, which may have short deadlines.

Desirable:



Empathy towards the issues facing those in later life.

Knowledge of working with the Civil Service.

Communication and Marketing Skills.

Knowledge of the charity/voluntary sector.
