ABOUT US
We're Just The Place Group - the family behind Ashfield House, The Wayfarer, Problem Child Brewing and Problem Child Events such as Originals Music Festival. Between weddings, food, beer, and brilliant events, everything we do is about bringing people together through heart, quality, and a bit of Northern charm.
We're a small, hands-on team with big ambitions. We've built loved local brands with loyal customers, and now we're ready to make marketing a priority and shout about our achievements to grow our audience, boost bookings, and be recognised for the great work we do. That's where you come in...
THE ROLE
This is a brand-new position with plenty of room to make it your own. You'll be responsible for creating, coordinating, and managing all marketing and content activity across our group - from planning social campaigns to producing wedding showcases, event coverage, and paid ad content.
We're looking for someone who can be both strategic and hands-on: confident taking photos one day, writing press copy the next, and managing an ad campaign by the end of the week.
You'll work closely with our leadership team who oversees group coordination, to build structure, consistency, and momentum across all marketing activity.
You'll be the creative heartbeat connecting all parts of the business, responsible for:
Social Media & Content Planning
Creating and managing a content calendar for all brands (Ashfield House, The Wayfarer, Problem Child Brewing, and events).
Planning and posting daily content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
Maintaining brand personality while adapting tone for each venue.
Engaging with comments, DMs, and tagged content to grow community reach.
Organising monthly photoshoots or "content days" to capture visuals across site
Photography, Videography & Storytelling
Creating and editing short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) that bring the venues to life.
Working with professional photographers and videographers to build a shared content library.
Capturing behind-the-scenes moments - from kitchen prep and beer brewing to wedding setups and events.
Campaigns & Advertising
Managing all paid advertising with the support of third party ads manager (Meta and Google Ads).
Writing creative copy and producing visuals for digital and print campaigns.
Monitoring ad performance, tracking ROI, and reporting results monthly.
Working with leadership to plan marketing budgets per venue.
Email Marketing & Automation
Writing and designing email campaigns
Managing subscriber lists for each venue and ensuring GDPR compliance.
Setting up automated sequences (e.g. wedding brochure downloads, loyalty updates).
Website & SEO
Updating website copy and images regularly across all brands.
Ensuring consistency of messaging, tone, and visual identity.
Uploading blogs and news stories (e.g. styled shoots, recipes, supplier spotlights).
Monitoring Google Analytics and keyword performance.
Events & Brand Representation
Attending events such as wedding showcases, beer festivals, and community days to capture live content.
Supporting supplier collaborations and styled shoots (planning, coordination, promotion).
Producing post-event reports with photos, engagement stats, and recommendations.
Awards, PR & Partnerships
Identifying and writing entries for relevant awards.
Liaising with media and PR contacts to pitch stories and features.
Maintaining relationships with local influencers, photographers, and partner brands.
Reporting & Review
Creating a monthly marketing report summarising activity, engagement, enquiries, and ROI.
Reviewing data and suggesting improvements based on trends and performance.
ABOUT YOU
You're a creative all-rounder who loves storytelling but you're just as comfortable working with numbers and analytics as you are with words and visuals.
You'll thrive here if you:
Have experience in marketing, content creation, or communications.
Can confidently manage multiple brands, platforms, and deadlines.
Understand how to turn a busy day on site into great storytelling content.
Write well and know how to tailor tone to different audiences.
Are confident with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, Wordpress, and basic video editing tools (e.g. CapCut, InShot).
Enjoy the balance of creative independence and collaboration.
Are proactive and comfortable making things happen without needing constant direction.
