We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the British Academy of Jewellery as part of the Marketing team. You will be reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager. This role is central to driving student recruitment through targeted marketing and proactive lead generation. With lead generation at its core, this role supports the entire recruitment funnel - from awareness to conversion. The ideal candidate should be able to interpret customer's behaviour and understand consumer psychology but also contribute with original ideas and help increase brand awareness.
Key areas of responsibility
Planning, promoting, and delivering webinars and events to attract prospective students. This includes setting up and optimising registration pages, managing listings (e.g. Eventbrite), driving attendance through targeted campaigns, and ensuring post-event engagement by sending recordings to participants.
Drafting and sending recruitment communications, including email campaigns and newsletters that inform, engage, and convert prospects at every stage of the funnel.
Drafting and distributing high-value marketing assets, such as blog posts, podcasts, and campaign visuals, to support outreach and website engagement.
Building and segmenting databases to enable targeted outreach and track campaign performance in support of recruitment goals.
Supporting social media execution, including scheduling and preparing content that aligns with campaign goals and boosts lead engagement.
Conducting competitor benchmarking and industry research to support recruitment activity.
Saving and naming event images for collateral to support lead nurturing,
Managing the marketing inbox to ensure timely, personalised responses to enquiries and inbound leads.
Join working groups to support alumni and industry engagement. Help strengthen connections through coordinated communications, database management, and event support.
Identify and spotlight alumni stories to generate engaging content for our website, newsletter, and social channels.
Support alumni tracking and reporting to demonstrate impact and drive continued engagement.
Digital communication
Marketing emails and analytics, both internally and externally
Manual web content management, i.e. editing the website, uploading posts, SEO, updating course pages etc.
Managing MTs tasks related to the Podcast (apart from social media posts)
Press liaison coordinating
Events
Setting up Eventbrite when needed
Liaising with other involved Teams
Attending events as BAJ Marketing's representative
Working as liaison for any photographers/videographers
Event photography when freelancers are not hired (as listed under content creation)
Ensuring GDPR compliance for photography etc.
Content creation
Being present on BAJ campuses (in London and the regional campuses when needed) , particularly in the workshops taking photos and videos.
Conducting market research exercises, surveys and analytics reporting
Preparing reports by collecting and analysing the Sales data
Identifying and analysing competitors
Graphic design support
Collaborating with the design team member to produce promotional materials i.e for MailChimp , podcasts, Eventbrite
Person Specification
Education / qualification and training
Degree in Marketing or relevant field preferred but not essential
Proven work experience as a Marketing coordinator, Marketing officer or similar role
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools
Experience with research methods using data analytics software
Expertise with SEO/SEM campaigns
Solid computer skills, including MS Office, web analytics and Google Suite
Experience
Knowledge of Wordpress or Mailchimp is an advantage
Experience with a DSLR is an advantage
Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management and Content Management System software
