Marketing & Design Assistant (Part-Time Student Role)

Location: Edinburgh (office-based)

Hours: 16 hours per week

Pay: 15 per hour (including service charge)

Holidays: 28 days per year (inclusive of bank and national holidays, pro rata)

We're the team behind Society Bar & Kitchen, one of the busiest and highest-rated restaurants in Edinburgh. Known for our relaxed Scottish bistro-style menu and outstanding guest experience, we've built an incredible reputation -- now we're ready to take our marketing and design to the next level.

We're looking for a creative, hands-on marketing or design student to join our team part-time. Up to now, we haven't focused heavily on marketing or social media, so this is a rare opportunity to help shape our next chapter and establish the visual identity of one of Edinburgh's most successful hospitality brands.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for designing menus, building and maintaining our website, and developing engaging visual content for social media. You'll also work directly with the owners on evolving the overall brand style and aesthetic, helping ensure our design, tone, and in-venue experience all align beautifully.

Key Responsibilities:

Design print and digital materials including menus, posters, and promotional graphics Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok Update and manage the restaurant website (Wix, Squarespace, or similar) Assist with photography, video, and creative campaigns Work with the owners on brand refresh and visual redesign Maintain brand consistency across all customer touchpoints
About You:

Currently studying Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related subject Confident using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools Strong eye for layout, colour, and typography Familiar with website builders and social media platforms Proactive, organised, and reliable with a passion for creativity Excited by the chance to influence the design direction of a top Edinburgh brand Strong experience in posting social reels and tiktoks.
