THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Our newly appointed Director of Marketing and Admissions will spearhead the development and implementation of innovative marketing and admissions strategies. With a proven track record in brand building, segmented marketing, and exceptional customer service for parents, she is set to make a significant impact.

CORE PURPOSE




The Designer/Photographer is a key member of the Marketing team, assisting in and driving the visual aspects of the internal and external marketing function of a high profile, busy and successful school. They will be flexible and positive and insist on the highest standards on all work. They are effectively the brand curator for St Helen's.


All members of the team will be supportive of each other's roles and will ensure that work is completed quickly, efficiently and authentically. As such, everyone shares the responsibility for success.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES




The role is responsible for capturing and producing high-quality visual content that reflects the organisation's daily activities, events, and key initiatives. This includes both candid and set piece photography, as well as the creation of compelling short films in collaboration with internal teams and external providers.


The postholder will manage and maintain comprehensive visual and film libraries to ensure easy access and consistent archival standards.


In addition to content creation, the role involves editing and curating visual assets for multiple platforms, ensuring brand consistency and visual impact. The successful candidate will also take the lead on the design and production of a range of publications including brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials.




The role extends to merchandise creation and logistics management, ensuring brand-aligned products are delivered efficiently and effectively. As a brand advisor, the postholder will offer guidance on the visual and commercial aspects of brand elements, including merchandise, equipment, and uniforms.

THE PERSON




The ideal candidate will bring a strong, diverse portfolio showcasing their expertise in design, photography, and visual asset management. They will have proven experience in producing and editing a wide range of digital and print media, demonstrating both creativity and technical skill.


Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant tools is essential. A working knowledge of suppliers in the print and design industry, along with established contacts, will be highly beneficial.


An understanding of the independent school sector is advantageous, offering insight into the unique tone, expectations, and audiences associated with this environment. The successful candidate will possess a sharp eye for detail and a high standard of visual accuracy. Familiarity with the visual and technical requirements across various social media platforms is also important to ensure content is optimised for engagement and brand alignment.

SELECTION PROCESS




Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the school where they will be interviewed by the Director of Marketing and Admissions and members of the Senior Leadership team and have a tour of the school.
