Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)



Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)





This is a valuable role within our academic marketing department, working in close partnership with our sales teams to promote digital books and academic journals to university libraries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The role plays a measurable part in expanding access to our world-renowned publishing and offers multiple opportunities for creative marketing, demand generation, and market engagement. You'll be involved in a wide range of marketing activities, including email campaigns, social media, point-of-sale materials, print and digital advertising, video content, conference planning, and more.




About the role





This role involves marketing to an international audience and contributing to special projects focused on market analysis, sales models, and emerging areas of publishing.



It is highly collaborative across multiple functions at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and you will be part of a friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic marketing team.



You'll also:


Take ownership of a portfolio of digital products, working alongside marketing colleagues to develop and deliver marketing plans Meet regularly with sales colleagues to address localized marketing needs and execute demand generation activities Lead the successful delivery of CUP's participation in selected conferences and exhibitions Contribute to the ongoing development of tools and processes that support marketing goals



About you





You're a motivated and adaptable marketer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to grow your skills while contributing to a meaningful mission in global education and research.


1-2 years (or more) of marketing experience, or evidence of transferable skills A high standard of written English, with experience in copywriting, copyediting, and proofreading Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to build relationships across teams Experience working closely with sales teams (or prior experience in a sales role) is desirable but not essential Experience in planning, budgeting, implementing, and reporting on marketing campaigns, or evidence of related skills Excellent time management and the confidence to take initiative in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong computing skills and confidence in learning new tools and technologies A flexible, curious, and positive approach to work, with a passion for trying new things and solving challenges creatively Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences and events, supporting our global engagement efforts Comfortable working in a hybrid model, with two days per week in our Cambridge office
