Summary of Role



The Marketing Executive will play a key role in promoting CyNam's activities, programmes, and events. They will lead on content creation, digital marketing, and communications to raise the profile of CyNam, engage members and stakeholders, and support the growth of the regional cyber ecosystem. This is a hands-on, creative role suited to someone with strong communication skills and a passion for tech, innovation, or community engagement.

Responsibilities and Duties Overview



You'll be responsible for delivering CyNam's marketing and communications across digital, media and print, supporting events and engaging with our community, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities



Marketing & Content



Plan, create, and deliver marketing campaigns across digital and print.

Manage and grow CyNam's social media channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Slack, etc.).

Maintain and update the CyNam website.

Produce engaging content, including blogs, podcasts, newsletters, and email campaigns.

Design marketing materials such as event flyers, decks, infographics, and case studies.

Monitor performance metrics and use insights to shape strategy.

Events & Promotion



Promote CyNam events and programmes to maximise participation.

Support with planning and delivery of online and in-person events.

Capture and share highlights via live updates, photos, and summaries.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement



Communicate regularly with members, sponsors, and partners.

Support recruitment of new members and partners.

Strengthen relationships through marketing and outreach.

Assist with marketing delivery for CyberFirst Schools programme.

Reporting & Insight



Track and report on KPIs for campaigns and events.

Analyse engagement data to guide future activity.

Stay informed on trends in cybersecurity, technology, and regional development.

Skills & Experience



Essential



Proven experience in a marketing, communications, or digital content role.

Strong copywriting and editing skills.

Proficiency in using social media platforms and scheduling tools.

Basic design skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

A proactive, collaborative, and enthusiastic attitude.

Desirable



Knowledge or interest in cyber security, tech, or innovation sectors.

Experience working in a membership, cluster, non-profit, or community-focused organisation.

Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and website CMS (e.g. WordPress).

Event marketing and support experience.

Your Task



Visual Design

Design a LinkedIn-optimised post image (static, not animated). The design should: Be visually striking and suitable for professional LinkedIn audiences. Communicate the event theme clearly (AI + Cyber). Include the event title, date, and location. Use design elements that feel innovative but credible (not overly gimmicky).

Copywriting

Draft a LinkedIn post caption to accompany the image. Requirements: Hook the audience with a strong opening (1-2 sentences). Convey the event's purpose and value. Include a clear call-to-action (e.g., register now, save the date). Keep the length concise and LinkedIn-appropriate (max ~120 words). Use a tone that's professional yet engaging, avoiding jargon.
