Home Hardware is a leading independent wholesaler supplying over 50 retail outlets in Scotland and the North of England with Gardening, Housewares and DIY ranges. We have a strong, experienced and stable team at the Operations centre in Ardrossan, who provide essential stock ranges and branded marketing support to our retail customers. About the Role



As an experienced and responsible marketing manager you will report to Directors, compile reports, help to develop the Marketing strategy, and execute marketing and communication activities. You will be responsible for a wide-variety of marketing and communication activities, from printed brochures, to website and social media, radio and local press for both B2C and B2B opportunities.

Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives and drive brand growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong management capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of traditional and digital marketing tools, and excellent communication skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee marketing campaigns, optimise online presence, and contribute to organisational success through innovative strategies and leadership.

Duties: What you'll do



Promote and supervise the development and delivery of the HH brand across multiple channels, and apply clear, robust and consistent messaging in liaison with the Design, Marketing and Buying team

Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, including B2B marketing initiatives. Lead a team of marketing professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment. Monitor industry developments to keep strategies current and innovative. Assist with the development of internal communications strategy through the group intranet Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including sales, client services and senior management Book and manage Royal Mail brochure delivery schedule and develop and proof all brochures Monitor, manage and advise on social media policy and direction Monitor and help develop the performance of the HHD website, and deal with daily management of website sales, queries and order fulfilment
Drive the development, research and deliver our marketing strategy in liaison with Directors to support growth and sales targets as well as ad-hoc opportunities

Control the marketing budget for print and website costs and effectively compile robust budgetary reporting Report of Marketing activity to ensure continued focus on ROI Organise regular Marketing Meetings and Retail Customer Meetings Organise and run internal and external customer events, including booking hotels or meeting rooms, setting up and taking minutes Identify and on board new members to Home Hardware in liaison with Directors Organise market research activities to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.

Skills and competencies



Proven experience in managing marketing campaigns and brand management Proven management and leadership skills with experience in team supervision. Show a good understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise and work at pace to deadlines The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, able to confidently deal with group teams internally, and external stakeholders, and to lead by example Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Exceptional copywriting abilities with experience in creating compelling content for diverse audiences. Expertise in social media management across multiple platforms. Good customer service skills A high level of commercial acumen and data-driven analytical thinking to help drive strategic decision making Solid understanding of B2B marketing principles and strategies. The ability to multi-task, prioritise, and follow processes effectively Event management experience Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Omnisend and Gorgias an advantage and ability to use task management software An HND or degree in Business or Marketing is advantageous A positive self-starter, with a can-do hands-on attitude, and a sense of fun
