Job Overview



We are seeking a strategic, creative, and commercially minded Marketing Manager to lead marketing initiatives within the catalyst and oil & gas sector.

You will be responsible for two direct reports, bringing our technical innovations to market through impactful campaigns, engaging content, and industry events, helping position our company as a trusted partner in the energy and refining industry.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on driving marketing strategy, producing compelling content, and delivering measurable business results without needing to be a technical expert.

Key Responsibilities



Strategy & Campaigns



Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.

Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns that build brand awareness, generate leads, and support commercial growth.

Track and report on campaign performance and ROI, using insights to optimise marketing activity.

Manage and work within an agreed marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Delivering Technical Content



Create, commission, and manage papers, case studies, reference materials and advertising campaigns.

Translate technical and product information from the internal team into engaging, accessible marketing content.

Ensure brand consistency and a compelling narrative across all communications channels.

Events & Industry Engagement



Plan and deliver trade shows, conferences, webinars, and customer events to promote the products and services we provide.

Coordinate event logistics, manage suppliers, and work within budgets to maximise impact.

Innovate in event formats to strengthen engagement and elevate brand presence.

Digital & Social Media Marketing



Manage and grow our online presence via LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.

Develop and maintain a content calendar to drive engagement.

Monitor analytics and use insights to continuously improve reach and engagement.

Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with technical, sales, and leadership teams to ensure marketing initiatives support business goals.

Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers, ensuring creative outputs meet objectives and budgets.

Budget Creation & Management



Develop the annual marketing budget in alignment with company objectives and planned activities.

Forecast, track, and manage marketing spend across all channels, campaigns, and events.

Analyse budget performance regularly, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.

Ensure all marketing investments deliver measurable value and adhere to financial guidelines and approvals.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications



Essential



5+ years' experience in B2B marketing, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.

Strong experience in strategic marketing, campaign management, and brand development.

Excellent content creation skills, including papers, case studies, and digital campaigns.

Proven ability to plan and execute events and social media campaigns.

Experience working to and managing a marketing budget.

Excellent project management, organisation, and communication skills.

CIM Qualification.

Experience of people management.

Desirable



Experience in marketing within the oil & gas, chemicals, or industrial sectors.

Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce).
