About Us



Hope Street Hotel sits in the beautiful Georgian quarter of Liverpool, we are a privately-owned multi-award-winning hotel with 149 bedrooms, two restaurants - The London Carriage Works (with 2 AA Rosettes and AA Notable Wine List) and 1931, a modern pizza restaurant. We also have a gorgeous spa (The Good Spa Guide's Best City Spa 2023), as well as eight fabulous events spaces, including a private cinema. Hope Street Hotel is celebrating its 20th birthday this year.

Our second property, School Lane Hotel, is in the heart of Liverpool ONE offering 55 bedrooms. It opened in May 2023, and was featured as one of The Times and Sunday Times Best Places to Stay 2024.

We are passionate about delivering authentic hospitality experiences and are seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager to lead our marketing strategy and creative direction across both hotels, restaurants, spa, and event spaces.

The Role



As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing and brand strategy for both hotels, restaurants, event spaces and spa. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead all aspects of marketing -- from campaign planning and digital strategy to creative production and brand management -- ensuring consistent, engaging, and on-brand communication across all channels.

You will line manage the Communications Manager and Marketing Executive and collaborate closely with the wider sales, events, spa, and operations teams to drive awareness, engagement, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership



Develop and implement the annual marketing strategy and budget for Hope Street Hotel and School Lane Hotel ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives Identify and act on marketing opportunities to grow brand awareness, occupancy, F&B, spa, and event sales. Align all marketing activity with commercial goals, monitoring ROI and key performance metrics. Ensure brand consistency across allchannels.

Campaigns & Creative



Plan and deliver seasonal and tactical marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels. Design and produce marketing materials (brochures, menus, signage, digital assets) in line with brand guidelines. Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling content for PR, email marketing, and guest communications.

Digital Marketing & Online Presence



Oversee management of websites, SEO, PPC, and performance analytics, ensuring strong visibility and conversion. Effectively manage OTA (Online Travel Agent) listings and third-party platforms to ensure content accuracy and consistency. Lead on social media strategy and oversee day-to-day execution by the Marketing Executive. Manage CRM and customer databases to support segmentation, retention, and campaign analysis.

Public Relations & Communications



Oversee the Communications Manager in delivering proactive media relations, press engagement, and content creation.

Manage influencer and partnership relationships to enhance brand reach.

Support and host press visits, media events, and content collaborations.

Work with external PR agencies and partners where relevant to amplify brand visibility.

Ensure all brand activity reflects the hotel's voice, tone, and premium positioning.

Performance Reporting



Monitor marketing performance metrics, campaign effectiveness and guest engagement and present monthly reports to the General Manager. Track and interpret data to inform decision-making and future marketing investment.

Team Leadership



Line manage and develop the Marketing Executive and Communications Manager, conducting regular 1:1 meetings, appraisals and setting clear goals and nurturing professional growth. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability across the marketing function.

Other responsibilities



Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory health and safety requirements for the hotel.

Ensure compliance with all financial and HR policies and processes.

Have a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging

Undertake any other duties as reasonably required, including Duty Management shifts.

About You



Essential Skills & Experience



Minimum 3 years' experience in a marketing management role, working at a strategic level, ideally within hospitality or a luxury lifestyle brand. Proven ability to create and deliver successful multi-channel marketing campaigns. Proficiency in digital marketing tools including SEO, PPC, social media, CRM, and email automation. Hands-on design and content creation skills using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva. Experience in managing external agencies and suppliers. Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills. A proactive, creative, and commercially-minded approach with attention to detail. Proven ability in analysing metrics related to campaign performance and ROI and in the implementation of successful marketing strategies.

Desirable



Familiarity with hotel systems (booking engines, OTAs, ResDiary, gift voucher platforms). Extensive knowledge of the Liverpool hospitality and tourism market and a strong network within the sector. Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
